Diane Hannibal

Assistant Director of Music

Diane Hannibal, born in Columbus, Ohio, is a true Buckeye football fan.  She graduated from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in music education and taught music in the Salina, Kansas schools for three years.  She has 18 graduate hours of voice at Wichita State University.  After raising her only daughter, Kristina, she returned to school, receiving her master’s degree in music therapy from the University of Kansas in 1999.  She works as a music therapist for special needs children with the DuPage County special education cooperative.

Diane has worked in churches for many years directing adult, bell, and children’s choirs, as well as being a paid soloist.   When she can’t find the right piece for a choir to sing, she writes it herself.  She has written many anthems, a full-length Lenten cantata, and children’s programs.

She and her husband, Wes, sing with the Elgin Choral Union and enjoy singing duets together.  Diane’s outside interests include Nascar, taking care of her truck, and she is a sports nut (Go Jayhawks!).  She and Wes have a granddaughter, Madison, who lives in Wichita, Kansas.
