TRADITIONAL
WORSHIP
8:00 A.M.
celebration
worship
10:30 a.m.
Holy Communion is
celebrated at both worship services.
Holy
Communion
WE INVITE all
baptized Christians to share in the Holy Communion celebration. Alert the server
(sign of a “V” with you fingers) if you prefer grape juice instead of wine.
Communion cups containing grape juice are in the center ring of the communion
tray. Please follow the usher’s direction.
The
Lord
of Life sanctuary is equipped
with a “Personal PA”
sound system that includes hearing assist units. If you have difficulty hearing
portions of the service, please contact one of the ushers.
We
love
Children in Worship! Thank you for
bringing them. Smile at a parent with a child. (Smile twice at a parent with
more than one.) A smile goes a long way to support their efforts – a frown can
discourage for life.
A
Nursery
Room for infants and young
children is located downstairs. Directions: Exit the sanctuary; to your right
is the stairwell. Go down the stairs, through the double door, and turn left.
The Nursery Room is located about three-quarters of the way down. Please feel
free to ask an usher for assistance.
WORSHIP REGISTRATION CARDS: All members and guests are
asked to fill out the registration card found in your bulletin. You
may return it
to an usher as
you
come
forward to receive Holy
Communion.
(If you forget, please give the card to an usher after the worship service.)

The Holy Spirit calls
us together as the people of God
prelude
*CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS
P: Blessed be
the holy Trinity, + one God, the source of life, the word of salvation,
the
spirit of mercy.
C: Amen
P: Let us confess
our sins to God, who is gracious and merciful, slow to anger,
and
abounding in steadfast love.
Silence is kept for
reflection.
P: God of compassion,
C: we confess
that we have failed to bear witness that you desire to draw all people to
yourself. In our hearts we have thought ill of those who differ from us,
and our love of others has
not been genuine. We have been caught up in the cares of the
world.
We have neglected
opportunities to welcome the stranger,
to feed the hungry, and
to mend broken relationships. Forgive our sins, merciful God, that our hearts
may burn with love for you and for those in need, and that our lives may witness to your
never-failing
love for your
creation. Amen.
P: Brothers and
sisters, buried with Christ by baptism into his death, your sins are forgiven.
The death Christ died, he died to sin, once for all; but the life he lives, he
lives to God. So you also, by the power of the Holy Spirit, are dead to sin and
alive to God in Christ Jesus.
C: Amen.
*GREETING
P: Worship the
Lord in the beauty of holiness. Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad. The God who created the world and fills it with life
be with you all.
C: And also
with you.

P:
God of tender care, like a mother, like a father, you never forget your children,
and
you know already what we need. In all our anxiety give us trusting and faithful
hearts, that in confidence we may embody the peace and justice of your Son,
Jesus Christ,
our Savior and Lord.. C: Amen.
